Nontando is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 16 years of experience in audit and finance roles within public and private sector. Her expertise lies primarily in financial services, with a focus on clients in financial services companies, government and municipalities, financial institutions, development funds, retirement funds and investment collective schemes. Her key responsibilities encompassed audit, taxation review, advisory services, and consulting services. Nontando has transitioned to the higher education sector, assuming the role of Director of Finance subsequently to Chief Financial Officer, where her areas of expertise expanded to include accounting and reporting, strategy development and execution, financial planning, treasury management, grant management, asset management, governance and policy development and review, risk management, and supply chain management.

She is a member of South African Institute of Chartered Accountant, South African Institution of Business Accountants (SAIBA) and Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA).

Her diverse experience across audit and finance within public and private sector underscores her proficiency in navigating complex financial landscapes and driving strategic financial initiatives within diverse organizational settings.
